“Help! Idk if my dog will sit still for her session!”

FAQ

I promise your pooch will do better than you think!

Let's face it – getting your dog to sit still for a photo is like asking a tornado to slow down for a family portrait. But that’s not the case during a photo session with The Dog Photog because I have found some of the best tried and true methods to capturing moments that even your naked eye may have missed!

Patience is a Virtue, But So is a Tennis Ball

Our skilled Dog Photog understands the fine art of patience. They're more patient than a saint waiting in line at a dog treat buffet. But guess what? They've got a secret weapon – the magical allure of a tennis ball! Picture this: a doggy daydream interrupted by the irresistible bounce of the ball. Click! The perfect shot is captured amid a whirlwind of fur and joy.

Capturing Chaos, Creating Art

Ever wondered how all the session portraits I share showcase the most well-mannered dogs? To be honest, not every doggo client listens perfectly. Really, less than 25% of dogs listen perfectly-and I don’t blame them, get frustated, or judge my client’s human!

I simply embrace each client as they come. If I sense your dog is a little too excited, we’ll throw the ball and work off some energy (that’s where a 2,000 square-foot studio really comes in handy). It’s really the in-between split-second moment that capture a dog’s personality best. It’s less about sitting pretty (even though we’ll capture those too!)

Eyes on the Prize: Capturing Canine Expressions

The eyes are the windows to the soul, and capturing the genuine expressions of your dog is The Dog Photog's pièce de résistance. From goofy grins to soulful stares, they know how to frame those eyes to tell a thousand tales. It's not just about a click; it's about preserving the personality of your pooch.

The Art of Doggy Distraction

In pet photography, distraction is an art form. Whether it's a squeaky toy, a feather on a stick, homemade organic dog treats, or unique noies, I’ve mastered the art of diverting your dog's attention just long enough to capture that picture-perfect moment.

Digital Makes Every Easier

If I’m worried I haven’t captured enough from your session, I may want to review your images together while giving your pup a break from the camera. I’ll upload the images I’ve captured so we can both see the portraits so far. This helps me know what other moments I want to try to capture and allows you to feel more confident in your pup’s modeling skills and reduce any stress or anxiety about the session’s results.

Every Dog Has Its Day - and Its Photo Session!

I know it’s easy to stress about how your dog’s manners reflect on you as the human. I’ve been there too—my pups acting like they’ve never been disciplined a day in their lives when someone visits the house. So trust me, I don’t judge you! We’ll just work together to focus a busy pup, comfort a nervous pup, and take our time to let an anxious pup decide when it’s time to start the session.

I teared up a bit
