FAQs

  • I’ve found it’s best to have your dog be able to sit and wait (or stay) before their session. It’s important for them to be able to sit on the backdrop by themselves without running after you!

Many dog parents are pleasantly surprised at how quickly I’m able to capture a split-second sit and stay. Just practice up beforehand and your dog should do just fine!

  • We get it. Sh!t happens. The Dog Photog requires a non-carpeted space for events. We bring cleaning products to clean up accidents quickly and resume the photo session as soon as possible.

  • At this time, sessions are designed for one dog only. With a smaller studio space, I’ve found that focusing on a single pup at a time allows for a calmer environment and better portraits—especially when it comes to capturing those sweet, expressive close-ups.

If you have multiple dogs you'd like photographed, I recommend booking separate sessions for each pup. I’m happy to help you schedule them back-to-back if you'd prefer to come in once!

  • Our paper backdrop selection varies throughout the year. Our most popular colors are light blue, black, and mint green. We also include a green turf carpet for dogs to sit on if they dislike hard/smooth floors.

  • We’ve all been there. You bring your pup to the spa and when you go to pick him up after his appointment, you don’t even recognize him — and the poor guy is so embarrassed he won’t make eye contact!

While we always try to accommodate last-minute snafus (whether a bad haircut or a tummy ache), I suggest scheduling your portrait session for a few weeks after a trip to the doggie spa. This way, the fresh hair cut grows out just enough to let your pet look more like himself before having his close-up!

  • We’ve photographed cats, guinea pigs, ferrets, and more! While we specialize in dog portraits, we're happy to offer portrait sessions to other pets. Please let us know in advance if you are want to book a session for another type of pet so we can confirm we're able to photograph them.

  • Two weeks after your session, you’ll get an email with a gallery of your edited images to swoon over.

Can’t narrow it down? No worries—you can snag extra images or go all in and grab the whole gallery.

These photos aren’t meant to live in your phone’s camera roll—they’re meant to be shown off! You can order prints, wall art, or even custom apparel straight from your gallery.

  • Absolutely! You’ll have two options:

    Pre-Purchase for Perks
You can add on a product collection at the time of booking and save on some of my most popular items—like albums, art prints, and metal wall art.

Order After You See Your Images
Prefer to wait? No problem. Once your final images are delivered, you’ll be able to order prints and artwork directly through your gallery after seeing the available products in the studio.
