After Your Dog Portrait Session

The camera may stop clicking when your session ends, but your dog's portrait experience is just beginning.

After your studio session, I carefully review and edit your portraits to create a collection of images that capture your dog's personality, expressions, and the moments that make them uniquely them.

From choosing your favorite portraits to creating finished artwork for your home, I'll guide you through each step of the process.

After your session, I carefully review the images from your dog's portrait session and select the strongest portraits to include in your gallery.

Every image is thoughtfully edited to enhance your dog's personality while preserving what makes them unique.

The goal is not just a collection of pretty photos—it is a set of portraits that feels like your dog.

Your Proofing Gallery

After your session, I step into the role of curator and editor.

I review the complete gallery from your dog's portrait session, lightly refining each image before creating a proofing gallery of the strongest portraits for you to choose from.

This process is intentional and unhurried, selecting only the best images featuring unique expressions and focal lengths, so you’ll review the best of the best. Single dog sessions can expect 60-70 proofs. Multi-dog sessions can expect 100-150 proofs.

Your proofing gallery allows you to see the variety of images created during your session and select the portraits you love most.

Selecting Your Favorite Portraits

Choosing your favorites is often the hardest part—dogs have a way of making every expression look like the one you need to keep.

From your proofing gallery, you'll select the portraits included with your collection along with any additional images you can't live without.

Once your selections are submitted, I'll begin the final editing process.

The Final Editing Process

Your selected portraits receive the finishing touches that transform them from proofs into finished artwork.

During editing, I carefully refine each image while preserving the personality and details that make your dog unique. This includes:

  • Removing distractions

  • Cleaning up the paper background

  • Removing smudges, treat crumbs, and drool marks

  • Extending the background where needed

  • Making final adjustments so your dog looks their absolute best

Your finished portraits will be delivered in a downloadable album inside your gallery approximately two weeks after your selections are submitted.

Turning Portraits Into Artwork

Your dog's portraits deserve more than a place buried on a hard drive.

After receiving your finished portraits, you can choose how you want to enjoy and preserve them—from digital images you can share and revisit to printed artwork designed for your home.

Whether you choose a framed portrait, an album, or additional digital images, each piece is created to help you continue enjoying the memories from your session long after the day itself.

Your gallery remains available for three months after your session, giving you time to order additional digital images and artwork.

Printed artwork includes the matching digital file of that portrait at no additional cost, so you can enjoy your favorite images both as finished pieces in your home and digitally.

Printed pieces typically ship within 2–3 weeks of ordering.
