Your portrait session was just the beginning. Now it's my turn to work behind the scenes to prepare your gallery.
This guide covers everything you need to know about viewing, choosing, and ordering your images. Feel free to save this page and come back to it when your portrait gallery arrives.
What Happens Next
Here's what you can expect after your session:
1. Image Selection
Every image is reviewed, and the portraits with the strongest expressions, moments, and compositions are selected as proofs.
2. Proofing Gallery
About one week after your session, you'll receive an email with a gallery of unedited proof images. This is where you'll choose your favorite portraits for editing.
3. Professional Editing
Each selected image is individually hand-edited.
4. Gallery Delivery
Your final edited portraits will be delivered 1–2 weeks after you submit your selections.
5. Order Wall Art + Prints
After seeing your edited portraits, you can order artwork through the online store because these portraits are meant to live on walls. Peruse the artwork catalog →
What Does "Edited" Really Mean?
Every selected image you receive is professionally hand-edited.
Editing includes:
Color and exposure correction
Background extension, cleanup, and distraction removal
Leash and handler removal when needed
Minor fur and eye cleanup
Artistic finishing in my signature style
Each final image is crafted to be print-ready and wall-worthy.
Accessing Your Dog's Gallery
When your gallery is ready, you'll receive a direct link by email.
You'll be able to log in using the same email address you've used for all of your communication with The Dog Photog.
Choosing Your Dog's Portraits
Seeing all the proofs for the first time can feel overwhelming—and that's completely normal.

Back Up Your Portraits
Once your edited portraits are ready to download, be sure to download them promptly and save them in multiple places.
I recommend saving them to:
Your computer
An external hard drive
A cloud storage service (Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, etc.)
Your gallery remains online for six months from your session date. After that, it is removed, and I can't guarantee your portraits will still be available in the future.
Hard drives fail, technology changes, and I never want your dog's portraits living on one lonely laptop.

After you receive your gallery and submit your favorites, you can purchase wall art, albums, and additional digital images directly from the online store.
